Line Breaks supports, celebrates and promotes socially-engaged and documentary poetry practice. What does that mean? It means we love projects that bring people and poetry together. Or people and people together via poetry. We share amazing projects and books, offer training and workshops and act as a network for poets working in a socially-engaged way. Our name is inspired by poet James Scully’s landmark book of essays Line Break: Poetry as Social Practice (1988). We believe that poetry absolutely does make things happen. To get more of sense of the kind of work we love, take a look at our lists on bookshop.org.
